I recently read a book by Scott Adams called God's Debris. It shook my mind about. Literally had me doubting my pre-conceptions and views. It brought up that the universe is ruled by probability and that God, an omnipotent being, destroyed himself and is reassembling himself through human beings. Basically: we are all little pieces of God.
“We have the answer. It is our existence. The fact that we exist is proof that God is motivated to act in some way. And since only the challenge of self-destruction could interest an omnipotent God, it stands to reason that we . . .” ... “Are you saying what I think you’re saying?” My brain was taking on too much knowledge. There was overflow and I needed to shake off the excess. The old man looked at nothing and said, “We are God’s debris.”... “So, you’re saying God blew himself to bits—I guess that was the Big Bang—and now he’s piecing himself back together?” I asked. “He is discovering the answer to his only question.” “Does God have consciousness yet? Does he know he’s reassembling himself?” “He does. Otherwise you could not have asked the question, and I could not have answered.”
The silent moment in the image of the boy, the light above him, and the dancing balls of light truly capture this concept. Bravo.
